Living Photo Frame
Questions, problems, or ideas? Email [email protected].
In the app, open Settings and tap Contact Support. The app fills in your app version, device model, iOS version, and language for you. Your photos are never included.
No photos are showing
The app needs permission to read your photo library. Open the iOS or iPadOS Settings app, find Living Photo, tap Photos, and choose Full Access or Limited Access.
If you chose Limited Access and have not selected any photos yet, the app has nothing to display. See the next section.
Adding more photos with Limited Access
Limited Access is fully supported. You decide exactly which photos the app can see, and you can change that selection at any time.
- In the app, open Settings and use the photo selection screen.
- Or open the Settings app, find Living Photo, tap Photos, then Edit Selected Photos.
Granting Full Access additionally lets you choose albums and iCloud Shared Albums.
Restoring a purchase
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
The paid features are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Restoring works on any device signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If nothing is restored, check that you are signed in with that account.
Weather is not showing
The weather display is part of the paid features. Check the following:
- The paid features have been purchased, and the weather display is turned on in Settings.
- Location permission is granted. Open the Settings app, find Living Photo, tap Location, and choose While Using the App.
- The device has a working network connection. Weather data is fetched from Apple Weather.
Weather updates are limited in frequency to keep the app light. It may take a little while for the first reading to appear.
The widget is not updating
iOS and iPadOS decide when widgets refresh, so the widget does not update the moment a photo changes in the app. Opening the app prompts a refresh.
If the widget stays blank, confirm that photo access is granted and that at least one photo is selected.
Videos in my library
If you turn on videos in Settings, the app shows them as still images. Videos are not played back with sound or motion. This keeps the photo frame quiet and suitable for long, continuous display.
Battery and long-running display
The app is designed to stay on for long periods. It dims at night on a schedule you choose, and slowly shifts the overlay to protect the screen. When running for hours, keeping the device connected to power is recommended.
Privacy
Photos are displayed on your device and are not uploaded to external servers. The app has no backend and no account. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Contact
If none of the above helps, please get in touch. Including your app version, device model, and iOS version helps a lot.
